Causes We Support

Living Water seeks to support causes both locally and globally through prayer, personnel, and financial assistance. Some of the causes we support are outlined in the list below.

Eternal Life Mission – Eternal Life Mission works in Mexico, through missionaries Richard and Angela Bout, and Matt and Anne-Marie Van Dyken. They are serving in the city of Tepic with a small, growing church and bringing the gospel in their community with Bible studies and outreaches. The people in this area are very often steeped in all kinds of mixed religious superstitions added to the Roman Catholic faith. Please pray for them that they may be given wisdom in dealing with the many different attacks on true Christianity that they face and encouraging the new Christian members as they face pressures from their families to abandon their new found faith.

Fred and Arlene Jonkman – Fred and Arlene are currently working for Ecuador Missions in Quito, Ecuador.  They are labouring in the area of family ministry.  This includes teaching in the areas of premarital counseling, marriage enrichment, parenting, and family worship. They also offer workshops to train and equip men and women to teach children in the Sunday School setting.  Ecuador Missions asks for your prayer and financial support.

Word and Deed Canada

The Hope Centre – Pastor Tony Zekveld and Peter Nathaniel are sent out by Covenant Christian Church of Wyoming (URC) to be missionaries in the city of Toronto. They spend their time working with the Sikhs in their community. They engage in Bible studies, group discussions, community newspaper writing, and preaching. Please pray for them that the Lord would work through their teaching to reach the hearts of the people.

Brantford Pregnancy & Resource Centre – The Brant Pregnancy and Resource Centre’s purpose it to provide meaningful alternatives to abortion for women with unplanned pregnancies. They are staffed with trained volunteers, who are committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please continue to pray for those who are involved with the Centre, the work they do, and the people they minister to.

Brantford Blessing Centre

New Horizon United Reformed Church – New Horizon Church in Toronto is a community of mixed ethnic and Canadian Christians adhering to the historic Protestant faith, under the oversight of Cornerstone URC in London, ON. Please pray for Pastor Mitchell Persaud as he ministers to this group.

Mid America Reformed Seminary

MINTS – Rev. Eric Pennings is affiliated with Miami International Seminary (MINTS). MINTS is used as a means to educate church leaders in reformed theology. Rev. Pennings is committed to making mission trips to Central America, where he writes course material, educates and encourages Hispanic Christian leaders in various study centres. Please remember to keep Rev. Pennings in your prayers.

Canadian Bible Society

Voice of the Martyrs Canada – The Voice of the Martyrs is dedicated to helping, loving and encouraging persecuted Christians worldwide. The organization does this by providing medical assistance, food, clothing, bibles, literature, and evangelisitc tools. They also encourage persecuted Christians by giving their testimony a voice, informing Christians in Canada to know how to help. The VOM mission is to gloify God by serving His persecuted Church, as they seek to fulfill the words of Hebrews 13:3 – “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them – those who are mistreated – since you yourselves are in the body also”.

Redemption Prison Ministries – RPM works with male and female prisoners across Canada.  RPM facilitates the churches by providing Bible study courses to prisoners and then training instructors in the churches to mark lessons and write letters of encouragement. Rudy deVries goes in bi-monthly to visit one on one with many of our students in Kingston area prisons. Please pray that the hope of the gospel would run though the prisons and that many would be given freedom from the chains of sin.

Ministerios de Vida – a joint effort between four local Reformed churches (URCNA, FRC, and OPC) where we seek to reach Spanish speaking migrant workers with the gospel through weekly Sunday worship and four times a year, a soccer outreach. The outreach runs between May and November every year.
